Libraries

Kyung Hee University Library was established in 1951 in a temporary building in Busan during the Korean War, beginning with a donation of 700 books from Dr. Young Seek Choue. The current Central Library building, located on the Seoul Campus and renowned for its grand architecture and stone masonry, was completed on June 13, 1968. That same year, the library also hosted the second conference of the International Association of University Presidents. As of February 2025, the library's collection includes more than 1.55 million volumes, 60,000 digital items, and a seating capacity of 2,800 The Central Library features a rotunda with remarkable architectural beauty, as well as various spaces such as the main stacks, reference and periodicals stacks, a conference room, group study rooms, a computer lab, a 3D library room, and a seminar room. In addition, four branch libraries—the Law Library, Medical Library, Korean Medicine Library, and the Library of the Graduate Institute of Peace Studies (G.I.P.)—offer specialized collections and services tailored to their respective academic fields.
